Fuel cells produce electricity and heat through a chemical reaction. They can save up to 70% in CO2 emissions compared to gas boilers, making fuel cells one of our most advanced home-energy solutions.
Fuel cells use a chemical process called cold combustion. Inside the device, natural gas and oxygen are converted to hydrogen to provide heat and hot water. Fuel cell technology is significantly more efficient than other combustion-based combined heat and power solutions. It also means users can generate their own electricity.
BDR Thermea Group participates in the EU’s PACE project to create a competitive European market for fuel cell technology. Within this, policymakers and manufacturers are preparing the supply chain for mass commercialisation of fuel cell technology.
