Our world is changing quickly and radically. The planet’s future is at stake. As the world shifts from fossil to sustainable energy sources, BDR Thermea Group is helping cut carbon emissions. We develop smart products and services that save energy and make people’s lives easier.

Our heating technologies bring a zero-carbon future closer. We apply sustainable principles every step of the way – from sourcing materials for the manufacture of our products to installing systems for everyday use. Our aim is to provide innovative, affordable products that have a low environmental impact. Innovative technologies to speed the shift

To survive, the world needs to transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. That shift has begun. Now, it needs to accelerate. Our innovative heating technologies make the energy transition a reality.

From heat pumps and fuel cells to hybrid solutions and hydrogen boilers – we’re at the forefront of technological development. We supply boilers that run on hydrogen-gas blends and are piloting a 100%-hydrogen boiler.

We work in close collaboration with gas grid providers, governments and other stakeholders to tackle the complexities of the energy transition. Renewable energy sources such as solar and wind are not always available, creating challenges such as balancing the grid and buffering of energy. We develop our products with this in mind.

The energy transition requires a technological revolution. Our connected, intelligent, easy-to-use tools and services open a world of value for customers and installers, offering energy efficiency and excellent experiences.

Product connectivity and the Internet of Things (IoT) are opening doors to new services and customer experiences. Connected thermostats, remote monitoring and predictive maintenance make installation easy, benefiting installers at the commissioning or servicing stage. And they give end-users control over their comfort.

Our products are usually part of a larger system or combination of heat generators. That’s why we make products that can operate easily with each other, such as a boiler in a hybrid situation with a heat pump. Our smart products contribute to the energy transition, feeding into smart grids and helping buffer energy and balancing the grid.

We want to play an active role in reducing the environmental footprint of the solutions we offer. Our ambition to provide solutions with a near-zero carbon footprint drives investment in our portfolio of products. We are reducing the CO2 footprint reduction of our own offices and manufacturing sites by using more efficient lighting systems and moving to renewable energy.
Most of our emissions come from use of our products, as well as from our supply chain. We can influence the responsible production and consumption of our products, so they are used efficiently and disposed of responsibly. This includes using recyclable materials at the design and production stages, and using recycling and take-back schemes at the end of products’ lives.

Through the BDR Thermea Shareholder Foundation, we support education of people in the communities we operate. As a company, we stimulate education of our business partners. We train thousands of installers each year across our core markets. We educate and develop our employees so they have the mindset and skills to deal with the challenges the energy transition brings.

We believe diversity and inclusion in their broadest sense are key to our success. Increased diversity of gender, cultures, nationalities, views and more benefit the quality of our decision-making and business operations. An inclusive approach also ensures we can attract and retain the best talents in society – and so perform better as a company.
