Combined heat and power (CHP) generates electricity and captures usable heat produced in the process. This prevents the huge amounts of heat wasted in conventional electricity generation. CHP plants can achieve more than 90% efficiency, sharply reducing energy bills. They cut emissions and enhance security of supply by generating electricity at the point of use.
