Remeha opens the largest heat pump factory in the Netherlands

Our brand Remeha opened the doors to the biggest heat pump factory in the Netherlands yesterday, with acting ministers Hugo de Jonge and Rob Jetten present to celebrate this milestone for the energy transition.

Remeha’s state-of-the-art line has a capacity of 140,000 Elga Ace hybrid heat pumps per year, helping to ramp up production after a period of scarcity, and making thousands of hybrid heat pumps available immediately. The substantial increase in production capacity of our heat pumps follows a Dutch government initiative that aims to lower production costs, decrease installation time, and grow numbers of installers.

This new factory will play an important part in scaling BDR Thermea’s overall heat pump production. We increased production in our existing heat pump production facilities in France and Spain recently, as well as realising the first-ever heat pump production line in our factory in Bassano del Grappa, northern Italy. In Slovakia, preparations are well underway for a new factory. All these efforts are aimed at driving the energy transition and meeting our customers' fast-growing demand for heat pumps.
