Our Baxi brand in Spain has signed a deal with Atlético Madrid’s women’s football team to become official sponsor for the next three seasons. Baxi’s logo features on the iconic Atlético kit as the squad takes on Spain’s top teams in the Liga Iberdrola.
The ceremony took place at the Wanda Alcalá de Henares Sports Center, Atlético Madrid’s training ground, in the presence of Lola Romero, director of the women’s team, and star players Leicy Santos and Laia Aleixandri. They were joined by Jordi Mestres, Managing Director of Baxi Spain, and Jaume Alcover, Baxi Spain Marketing Director.
Jordi Mestres, says: “We believe that sport is based on values – effort, improvement and commitment – that are needed more than ever in today’s society, helping us overcome the many challenges we face. We are very excited to add our commitment and support to the top women's football competition.”
While women’s football has gained popularity over the years, it is still underfunded compared to the men’s game. Sponsorship is one of the ways we can help level the playing field and reflects our company’s commitment to gender equality.
Baxi has close ties with Spanish sport, being the title sponsor of the Baxi Manresa men’s basketball team and the Baxi Ferrol women’s basketball team since 2018. The high-profile sponsorship with Atlético Madrid will further help raise the profile of the Baxi brand among Spanish consumers.
